HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Houston police are looking for a gunman accused of killing his long-term girlfriend and injuring her daughter at a motel in southeast Houston,
Christopher George Edwards, 52, is charged with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon. HPD released a previous mugshot of him from 2021 and his ID photo.

Houston police said Edwards, his 41-year-old girlfriend, and her 21-year-old daughter were all staying in the same room at the Cushingberry Motel in the 4500 block of Idaho Street.
Investigators said there was a verbal argument — and that’s when Edwards opened fire just after 10 p.m. Monday.

The mother died at the scene. Police said her daughter was shot at least one time in the stomach area.
The 21-year-old was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Edwards ran away after the shooting in an unknown direction, police said. He was reportedly wearing a blue or light gray T-shirt and blue jeans when he ran off.
