A man accused of being involved in a fatal shooting in Fort Worth was arrested Wednesday evening after he led officers on a chase, police said.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of East Robert Street in response to a shooting, according to police. Officers found two people with gunshot wounds in a nearby field.
One of the victims died from their injuries, and the second victim was in surgery, police said. Authorities did not release their identities.
Officers later found the vehicle believed to have been used in the shooting on the east side of the city and began pursuing it, police said.
The chase ended about 7 p.m., the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. The suspect, whose name was not released, was arrested on an aggravated assault charge, according to police.
On Wednesday, November 30th, 2022, at 16:26, Central units responded to a report of a male that was shot at 1517 E Roberts Street. Central units made scene and confirmed that across the street in a field, two victims were located. One of the victims passed due to the multiple gun shot wounds and the second victim is in surgery at this time at a local hospital. The actors left in a vehicle in an unknown direction of travel. Special Response Teams located the vehicle in the east side of Fort Worth and began a pursuit. The pursuit is currently in progress. Report number is 220094091.
Suspect was taken into custody without incident. He will be charged at this time with Aggravated Assault.
