A driver was fatally shot Friday evening on C.F. Hawn Freeway near the Rylie area of southeast Dallas, police say.
About 5:15 p.m., Dallas police were notified of the shooting in the 11000 block of C.F. Hawn Freeway. The driver was traveling north in the left lane of the freeway, approaching Interstate 20, when another motorist shot the driver, police said.
The driver who was shot stopped on the freeway and was taken to a local hospital where the person died. The identity has not been released, pending family notification, police said.
Police described the suspect’s vehicle as a small, grey car, and did not indicate whether the suspect is in custody.
Police said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
