A 40-year-old man was fatally hit by a vehicle in South Dallas early Saturday, police said.
The man was in the northbound lanes of the 5600 block of Botham Jean Boulevard, near Budd Street, when he was struck about 3:45 a.m., police said.
A witness told police the vehicle stopped, but then drove away.
Police said the man, whose name was not released, died as he was being taken to a hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, police said. They did not release a description of the vehicle that hit the man.
