Two people were killed and three others were injured in a Deep Ellum shooting early Friday morning, Dallas police said.
About 2 a.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of Elm Street, near North Crowdus Street, where police say an altercation broke out between four people and shots were fired “immediately.”
Grand Prairie piloted the high school class, hoping Texas approves standards soon.
Five people were struck by bullets. Two people were pronounced dead and three others were injured, according to police. Their conditions and the extent of their injuries weren’t immediately available.
Officers were already patrolling in Deep Ellum as part of their routine duties, so they responded “in seconds,” police said.
Two people are in custody in connection to the shooting, but police did not identify them. No further information was available.
The investigation is ongoing.
