A man was taken into custody Tuesday after police say he robbed 10 fast-food restaurants in Dallas and Farmers Branch over the course of a month.
Anthony Barnes, 25, is accused of aggravated robbery, Dallas police said. It’s unclear how many counts he faces or whether he has an attorney.
Dallas police said Barnes robbed each restaurant at gunpoint and drove off in a gray Kia Soul. Authorities had obtained search warrants for his home and car, police said.
Police said Barnes’ spree began the evening of Feb. 27, when he robbed a Burger King in east Oak Cliff. About two weeks later, he robbed two Wendy’s locations, one in northwest Dallas and one in Farmers Branch, police said.
Later that week, Barnes held up two Taco Cabanas — one in the Stemmons Corridor and one in west Oak Cliff — and a Burger King in Far North Dallas, police said.
On March 21, Barnes robbed a Burger King in northwest Dallas, a Jack in the Box in the Love Field area, and a McDonald’s in west Oak Cliff, according to police.
The last robbery occurred at a Burger King in Red Bird on Sunday afternoon, police said.
It’s unclear how much was stolen from the eateries.
Barnes did not appear in jail records Tuesday night.
Police Chief Eddie García congratulated his officers for making the arrest in a written statement.
“This arrest should send a continued, strong message that the Dallas Police Department, along with our community, will not tolerate this criminal behavior,” he said.
