Police arrested an adult suspect connected to an apparent drive-by shooting Wednesday that wounded a child in Haltom City, police said Thursday morning.
Jesus Vela-Alferez, 46, is charged with four counts of deadly conduct and one count of injury to a child, police said. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.
Officers were called about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday to the 3500 block of Eastridge Drive and found several cars and a home that had been hit by bullets, police said.
A girl in the house was wounded and taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Police did not disclose the child’s age.
Police said Vela-Alferez had a business relationship with the girl’s father and that they believe the shooting was related to a business argument.
Vela-Alferez is being held in Tarrant County jail with bond set at $140,000.
