A suspected robber who barricaded himself at a Fort Worth convenience store on New Year’s Eve was arrested on a charge of aggravated robbery and felony warrants out of Kansas after a standoff that lasted until about 2 a.m Saturday morning.
Fort Worth police arrived at the Shell Gas Station at 1908 Yucca Avenue at 8:42 p.m. on Friday, and SWAT was notified soon after. A 911 caller said that a man with a knife was pushing people around in the store.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the standoff lasted over five hours. Police said the suspect was eventually taken into custody without incident.
Robbery detectives are investigating the incident, Fort Worth police said.
