A multi-story townhome under construction in Arlington exploded and caught on fire early on New Year’s Day.
Arlington Fire arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire near the 4100 block of Viridian Village Drive at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday.
Arlington Fire Department investigators found that the explosion was the result of a gas appliance that was not fully turned off, according to a Facebook post.
The first unit arrived on scene and found evidence of an explosion with a small fire. The affected building was unoccupied and suffered major structural damage.
