Gwadar:
In a security operation near Jiwani Zero Point in the coastal district of Gwadar, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) apprehended 17 individuals, including five Afghan nationals, for attempting to enter Iran through illegal sea routes.
According to FIA officials, the detainees had no valid travel documents and were planning to cross the border via the Arabian Sea.
Preliminary investigations revealed that 10 of the arrested individuals belong to various districts of Punjab, while others are residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Afghanistan.
Authorities suspect the involvement of a human smuggling network, and cases have been registered against the individuals involved. The FIA has launched a detailed investigation to trace those facilitating illegal migration.
Security agencies have noted a rise in illegal border crossings from Balochistan’s coastal belt in recent months, prompting tighter surveillance and enhanced patrols along the western seaboard.
