HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A 12-year-old boy is now fearful of walking in his neighborhood after being shot with gel pellet guns by two teens on bikes.
The incident occurred on Sunday around 4 p.m. on Brunswick Meadows Drive in south Harris County.
In an exclusive interview with, the young victim recounted the troubling encounter, noting that he sensed potential danger when he noticed the teens following him.
“They pulled up beside me and said, ‘What’s up?’ and I responded with, ‘Hi,'” the boy recalled.
This innocent greeting was met with a frightening response.
“I saw them pull out something, and I thought it was a real gun. I thought I was going to die,” he said.
Though he wasn’t seriously harmed, he estimates being hit at least 20 times by the gel pellets.
“I said, ‘That hurt,’ and they just laughed and continued shooting as they rode off,” he recounted.
As they rode away, the suspects targeted an older man walking his dog, who hid behind a bush and then retreated to a field.
The boy managed to capture a brief one-second video of the suspects on their bikes.
“I’m an angry mother, and I want these kids found,” the victim’s mother told.
The Harris County Precinct 7 Constable’s Office confirmed they took a report but have limited information due to the vague descriptions of the suspects.
“I’m going to spend all summer looking for these kids. I don’t care. Whatever it takes,” the boy’s mother vowed.
