Lahore, Pakistan β Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, made a provocative statement asserting that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was defeated on May 9th, effectively neutralizing an attempt to attack state institutions, while India was defeated on May 10th. He accused the PTI of seeking to weaken Pakistan’s defense mechanism.
Speaking in Lahore, the Federal Minister claimed that PTIβs political agenda is fundamentally an effort to undermine the country. He severely criticized the PTI founder, alleging that his desire was for Pakistan to default.
Criticism of KP Governance and Economic Stability
Attaullah Tarar questioned the 12-year performance of the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), stating that the province has been turned into ruins with no new project initiated. He also claimed that PTIβs rally at Peshawar’s Sunday Bazaar was a complete failure.
Addressing the national economic stabilization, he praised the leadership of the Chief of Defence Forces, claiming that the enemy lives in fear of him. He attributed a major role in the countryβs economic improvement to Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Allegations of Corruption and Attacking Institutions
The Federal Minister shed light on the reasons for the PTI founder’s incarceration, stating that he is in jail for committing a “dacoity of 190 million pounds.” He labeled the violent events of May 9th as anti-national, asserting that by desecrating martyrs’ monuments, PTI “did the job the enemy wanted to do.”
Touching upon the boundaries of ethics, Attaullah Tarar expressed shame that the PTI founder’s sisters speak against the Pakistan Armed Forces on Indian media.
