Jerusalem, Israel โ Amid persistent tensions in Gaza and the West Bank, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he is close to completing the first phase of his ‘Gaza Plan.’ This statement offers important indicators regarding forthcoming political and peace initiatives in the region.
In a statement, Prime Minister Netanyahu confirmed that he is scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump this month. The meeting is anticipated to provide an opportunity to discuss the future of peace for Israel, Palestine, and the wider Middle East.
Netanyahu asserted that a viable path to peace with Palestine exists, and similarly, there is scope for establishing a broad peace with Arab states. His remarks are being viewed as potential progress within the framework of the US-led peace plan.
However, the Israeli Prime Minister maintained a controversial point, stating that the political annexation of the West Bank by Israel remains under discussion. The issue of West Bank annexation is a source of international concern and is widely seen as a serious obstacle to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Netanyahu further indicated that they have neared the second phase of President Trump’s Gaza Plan, suggesting that the two leaders are actively engaged in joint planning for future steps.
