New Delhi β A shameful and deeply distressing incident has been reported from the Mohganj district in Madhya Pradesh, India, where a 15-year-old girl was gang-raped inside the premises of her government school. The event has reignited grave concerns over the safety and security of women and girls in the country.
According to police reports, the victim had left her home to fetch water the previous day. During this time, the perpetrators forcibly dragged her into the school compound. The men then proceeded to gang-rape the girl while threatening to kill her. When the girl attempted to resist, she was severely beaten before the culprits fled the scene.
Details of the Incident and Arrests:
After the girl failed to return home for hours, her family began searching and found her semi-conscious in a paddy field near the school fence. Upon regaining consciousness, she recounted the horrifying details to her family, who immediately proceeded to the police station to lodge a complaint.
The police acted swiftly, managing to arrest all three perpetrators involved in the assault within 10 hours of the complaint being filed. Initial investigations revealed that one of the arrested suspects was a student at the victimβs own school.
Allegations of Police Misconduct:
The tragedy took a concerning turn when the victimβs family made serious allegations of misconduct and violence against some police personnel. The family claimed that while they were on their way to file the report, police officers assaulted them and confiscated their mobile phones.
