A two-week joint counter-terrorism military exercise, codenamed “Jalmood-1,” between the Pakistan Army and the Presidential Guards of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has successfully concluded in Tarbela. This exercise marks a significant step towards bolstering the defense cooperation and enhancing the operational capabilities of the security forces of both friendly nations.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise saw the participation of Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and contingents from the UAE Presidential Guards. A primary focus of the joint drills was on specialized operations, particularly hostage rescue scenarios and complex counter-terrorism maneuvers.
ISPR confirmed that senior military officials and diplomats from the UAE were present at the closing ceremony, underscoring the deep strategic relationship between the two countries. The objective of Exercise Jalmood-1 was not only to refine technical skills but also to further solidify the existing military cooperation framework between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The successful completion of the exercise demonstrates Pakistan’s commitment to collaborating with its allies to tackle regional security challenges, thereby promoting greater stability and security on an international level.
