Cairo, Egypt โ In a critical development related to peace efforts in the Middle East, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has put forth a key condition regarding the potential deployment of an international force in the Gaza Strip. He firmly stated that the purpose of any global force stationed in Gaza must be to ‘ensure the establishment of peace’ rather than ‘imposing peace.’
In his statement concerning the peace force in Gaza, the Egyptian Foreign Minister argued that the presence of such a force is vital to ensure that all parties adhere to the terms and restrictions of the ceasefire. This stance reflects Egypt’s crucial role in mediating and supporting efforts between the Palestinian and Israeli factions.
Badr Abdelatty further demanded that the Gaza Strip should be subject to a ban on the transfer of weapons. Additionally, he strongly insisted that the Rafah Crossing must remain open permanently for the continuous delivery of humanitarian aid and the passage of patients requiring urgent medical care. This demand underscores the severe humanitarian crisis faced by the people of Gaza and their desperate need for essential assistance.
Egypt, which borders the Gaza Strip, holds a significant and sensitive position in the efforts to bring stability to the region and address humanitarian concerns. Its statement provides a foundation for the future security and administrative structure of Gaza.
